  • Rotor looses connectivity with CommCat

I have a Yaesu G-2800GXA rotor and a Green Heron Engineering RT-21D Controller. I keep loosing connectivity with CommCat. Sometimes I can get it back by shutting off the controller, sometimes shutting off the Great Circle Map, Sometimes I have to shut down CommCat entirely, and sometimes I have to Restart my computer. There is no pattern other than it shuts down quite frequently. Any Ideas?

When the connection is dropped, do you still see it listed at the bottom of the Great Circle Map when you point to an appropriate spot? What COM port are you using? We can run a diagnostic log to look for clues if necessary.

Time for a diagnostic log. Here is how to proceed.

Start CommCat and go to File>Settings>Program>Startup>Diagnostics and put a check in the radio logging box...do NOT put a check in Test Mode.

        Restart CommCat

Use CommCat normally until the rotor connection fails, then exit CommCat and look for rclog.txt in My Documents\COMMSOFT\CommCat\Logs. Please send me a copy via direct email. I will analyze the log and let you know what I find.
