  • 2m 70cm tuning FT-897D

I'm not sure this is a bug but since there is a "2" tuning button on the iPad I thought it was worth a mention. When I tune into the 2m band my FT-897D thinks I'm tuning the 20m band. If I touch the frequency display and type in "147060.00" the radio will usually tune to the 2m band. Sometimes it takes entering the frequency twice for the transceiver to switch correctly. It should be noted if I enter "147060.0" the radio will never leave the 20m band.

I know the software is geared toward HF but when I'm walking the dog I like to tune into the local 2m repeater.

My current configuration consists of HRD and Commcat, both the latest version. This is all running on Win 7. I have no Rigblaster type of equipment at the moment.

I must say I'm really enjoying this app. Thanks for a fine job of combining Ham Radio and my iPad/iPhone.

If you need any further info I will try to assist.

    Hi Greg--

The required 2-meter frequency format for CommCat Mobile is 147222.0 (frequency in kHz, nearest 100 Hz). I don't have a 2-meter CAT controllable radio here, so we'll need to check it at your end. I suspect the problem is in CommCat, not CommCat Mobile. What happens when you tune your radio on 2-meters from CommCat directly?

I used VNC and clicked on the 2m button. As you can see 20 m was tuned. Here is a screenshot. Let me know what I can do to help.image.jpg

OK, suspicions confirmed. I'll do some sleuthing in the CommCat rig control early this upcoming week to see what is happening. I'll send a link via private email to a Beta once I have a fix. Thanks for the report!
